Micah has loved music since we met him. We got to witness him dancing and playing the xylophone in his music class at the orphanage when we first met him. Since then, he's danced to many things, his blue Russian "mousy", the iPad, the stereo, etc. Today, when I dropped off Gracie and Chloe at VBS, Micah ran to the front and started dancing to the praise and worship music that Pastor Terry was playing. My friend, Nancy, scooped him up and danced with him. It was such an awesome sight. He was loving it so much that he did his really loud excited scream with his hands high in the air... seeing him love music so much made me cry. He's so beautiful and has such an amazing spirit. Then my friend, April, came up and said, "I love him so much already." :) I have such wonderful friends.
Here is a video of some of Hillside Community Church's VBS program this year, "Pandamania". Gracie and Chloe are in a group photo at 1:50.
I was a little surprised at myself for crying. I haven't gotten very emotional since we came home. I did the first day we met him of course, and A LOT before we went to Ukraine. I don't know if it's just that I've been busy or what, but I haven't really thought too hard about the beauty that all of our children bring us, but especially this previously "unwanted" orphan that has blessed our home. He's always happy, always laughing and smiling, and always loving. I came home and turned on some music on TV, and he just danced for like an hour! He's currently running around and cracking himself up, laughing so hard. He's so funny!
Music is soothing to the soul. Well, the right kind is anyway :) I love that Fischer plays music and many instruments. I love putting a good cd on and dancing around with the kids. I love seeing my kids sing their lungs out and getting goofy when music is on. It's therapeutic :)

Have you thought about signing him up for piano or dance lessons?
